Hosted by A Daily Rhythm, Teaser Tuesday is a bookish meme meant to highlight passages from books you are currently reading.
Here are the rules (as described by A Daily Rhythm):
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
This week’s Teaser Tuesday is coming from Every Heart a Doorway, a novella, by Seanan McGuire. I picked up this title for its asexual representation as June is Pride Month and I’m trying to read more widely and diversely. So far I’m loving the story and it has the perfect amount of powerful and peculiar. Check out a teaser below!
“I went to a Fairyland. I spent three years there, chasing rainbows and growing up by inches. I killed a Goblin King with his own sword, and he made me his heir with his dying breath, the Goblin Prince in Waiting.”
Here’s another from the same page:
“Her parents swapped out her things before they sent her off to school. They knew she wouldn’t like it, and they did it anyway. There was a note.”
Do these quotes have you intrigued? Reading anything for Pride? Any recommendations?
