Hosted by A Daily Rhythm, Teaser Tuesday is a bookish meme meant to highlight passages from books you are currently reading.
Here are the rules (as described by A Daily Rhythm):
- Grab your current read
- Open to a random page
- Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
- BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
- Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!
Up this week is a YA contemporary focusing on a budding filmmaker, her friends, and their interesting take on Tolstoy. That’s right, it’s Kathryn Ormsbee’s Tash Hearts Tolstoy! I’m really loving this so far and the writing flows tremendously. It’s such a cute concept and hope more people pick it up. Check out this teaser:
Thus we formed our merry little company: seven actors, two film-makers, nine companions. Exactly like the Fellowship of the Ring. Okay, not exactly. Only in my mind, where I’ve assigned myself the role of Gimli, because come on, who is better than Gimli?
Look at that Lord of the Rings reference. How could you go wrong? I highly recommend checking this out. The writing alone is amazing!
