Today’s Top 5 is kind of a blast from the past as I reflect on my favorite children’s books from when I was young. At the tippity top has to be Madeline. It’s such an iconic picture book with twelve little girls in twelve straight lines. The artwork was tremendous and I always buy it as a gift for little ones. Ella Enchanted though was my go to title when I was young and I definitely reread that one more times than I can count. Another reread title is Little House on the Prairie which probably sparked my love of history. Of course the Babysitter’s Club books make the list even though I never once wanted to babysit. Rounding out my Top 5 is Where the Sidewalk Ends which never fails to bring warmth to my heart. As introductions to poetry go, Shel Silverstein was a great choice.
Did you read any of these as a child? Which titles made your list?
