On the eve of her thirtieth birthday, sports agent Bess Beringer is ready to make some changes. Armed with a five-year plan—indexed and color coded—she’ll tackle her personal life with the same zeal that she brings to her successful agency.

A big, tall, ripped hunk of hockey player who’s just been traded to the Brooklyn Bruisers is not a part of that plan. Mark “Tank” Tankiewicz has a lot of baggage. He’s a ride-or-die loner with a bad reputation. He’s on the rebound. He’s also the sexiest thing on two legs, and for some crazy reason it’s Bess that he wants.

She knows better. But then she falls stupid in love with him anyway. And for a while it seems like maybe he’ll do the same.

Until she asks him for the one thing he can never give her…

Back to the land of the Brooklyn Bruisers once again and this time sports agent extraordinaire Bess Beringer gets her chance to shine. She’s a boss businesswoman and an amazing aunt finally looking to take the next steps in life and in love. Bess has her own rules and a plan in place but one blast from the past (in the form of a smoking hot hockey player) could end up turning everything upside down.

Tank though is in a downward spiral. Recently divorced and traded to a new team, he’s trying to get his bearings. Running into Bess though might actually make things click into place. They’ve got extremely good chemistry and care deeply about each other. The “don’t date athletes” rule might be easily overcome but there is trauma and grief that are harder to break through.

While I enjoyed the romance and story, this book still left me wanting more. Don’t get me wrong, I’m still head over heels for everything Sarina Bowen writes. There was just something that made that final star out of reach. I don’t know if it was the speed at which the two MCs come together, the lack of high stakes hockey, or maybe the hero wasn’t fully my cup of tea.

Regardless Sure Shot is a solid hockey romance with an amazing lineup of characters. I loved getting to see former Brooklyn Bruisers series stars on page again. The female friendships formed with Georgia and Becca, her business partnership with Eric, and Tank and his teammates bonding. This book is an all around good time and I totally recommend checking this series out!
