Goodreads

Hi, booklovers!

I’m author Melissa Landers, and I’m so excited to launch STARFALL, the second and final book in my Starflight duology! This story picks up shortly after the first book ends, but now Cassia and Kane are the main characters, with Doran, Solara, and the rest of the Banshee crew pitching in to help take down an intergalactic mafia. (You know, just an ordinary day in space.) And while saying goodbye to characters is never easy, I think I gave the crew a proper sendoff with plenty of humor, heart, and action. I hope you love STARFALL as much as I do!

Haven’t read the first book? You’re in luck, because for a limited time, Starflight is on sale for 99 cents in all e-formats. Now you can binge read the entire duology in one sitting!

Praise for Starflight:

“Smart, action-packed and utterly addictive!” –New York Times bestselling author Amie Kaufman

Starflight has the cinematic appeal, warp-speed action and unlikely heroes of Star Wars.” –Justine Magazine

“A lively tale of romance, space pirates, conspiracy, and made (as opposed to genetic) families.” –Booklist

“A great choice for fans of raw sci-fi action, reminiscent of the lawlessness presented in the television series Firefly.” –School Library Journal

If you love sci-fi adventure with a dash of romance, I hope you’ll pick up the Starflight duology today. Starflight and Starfall are both available in stores and online.

Hoping creative direction will help her, Rune’s mother sends her to a French arts conservatory for her senior year, located in an opera house rumored to have ties to The Phantom of the Opera.

But Henrietta Howel is not the chosen one.

The Crystal Tour: Water’s Wrath & On The Waterfront

CT-Banner-2

With the release of Crystal Crowned almost upon us, it’s time to celebrate this wonderful series that Elise Kova has created. If you didn’t already know, it’s a YA Fantasy series consisting of five books: Air Awakens, Fire Falling, Earth’s End, Water’s Wrath, and Crystal Crowned.

And what better way to highlight these beautiful books then with a massive blog and review tour organized by the author herself running from June 9 through July 12. Since I adore this series so much, I’m going to be doing a post inspired by each book. So let’s have some fun!

If you couldn’t tell by the title, the element of water plays a major role in the fourth book of the Air Awakens series. It’s also played a significant role for me on a personal level. Basically my entire life has been spent living next to the water. From adolescence to adulthood whether it be ocean or lake, warm climate or cool, I’ve always been close to a shore.

The Crystal Tour: Earth’s End & The Treehouse Dream

In Earth’s End, the reader traverses the lush jungles of Shaldan, with its towering trees and dense humidity. Most of the Northern clans prefer their homes in the sky, creating immense cities and pathways with the power of Groundbreakers. I couldn’t help thinking about my obsession with treehouses while reading these scenes and thought I’d share a little bit of it with everyone.

I feel like most people dream of having a treehouse in their backyard when they are kids. I certainly did. I thought it would be so cool to have a little hideout in the sky to call my own or maybe share with my brothers if I was feeling generous. I just wanted to look out over my own kingdom and play in the trees. The closest I got was a little niche in the side yard oak that I could climb up and sit in.

Since elemental magic plays such a prominent role in the Air Awakens series I wanted to highlight at least one of the affinities during this tour. I decided to showcase the power of Firebearers and share some prominent flame wielders across pop culture. Here’s a little bit more info about the affinity from Elise:

Firebearers’ Personality

Stemming from their magic, Firebearers are often times noted for their passionate personalities. From the unending simmering heat of loyalty to the infernos of anger, Firebearers are assumed to swing wildly in their emotions. Much like fire, once they have committed to something they are known to follow a course until its end despite any hardships, holding flames long when others have flickered out.

Taylor Simmons is screwed.

Things were hard enough when her single-minded dedication to her studies earned her the reputation of being an Ice Queen, but after getting drunk at a party and waking up next to bad boy surfer Evan McKinley, the entire school seems intent on tearing Taylor down with mockery and gossip.

Desperate to salvage her reputation, Taylor persuades Evan to pretend they’re in a serious romantic relationship. After all, it’s better to be the girl who tames the wild surfer than just another notch on his surfboard.

I am thrilled to have Jenn Nguyen on the blog today to talk about everything from her debut novel, The Way to Game the Walk of Shame, to favorite destinations and TV shows. Check out her responses and don’t forget the giveaway at the end!
