Hopeful Reads is turning three!

Three years of blogging has been wild and the book community continues to be a home for me despite all of its ups and downs. Hopeful Reads continues to grow and as far as stats go there are 516 wonderful people following across WordPress, Email, and Bloglovin and I’ve made 768 posts with 17,106 total views. I’m truly so grateful for all the support.

Thoughts

My third year of blogging has felt a little lackluster and my energy is dragging. I’m still as passionate as ever when it comes to books and I have no intention of stopping. My Bookstagram passion is still on the rise though and I’m super happy with my pictures of late. Check it out!

Thanks

I just want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for supporting the blog. I love being apart of the bookish community and I appreciate all the feedback, interaction, comments, etc. that have been shared on my site and hope that it continues in the future. As a way of showing my unending gratitude check out the giveaway below.

Top 5 Wednesday: Books I’m Thankful For

Top 5 Wednesday image

Top 5 Wednesday was created by Lainey (Gingerreadslainey on Youtube) as a way for book reviewers and lovers to share their love of lists every Wednesday. Check out the Goodreads group.

  1. Harry Potter
  2. Shadow and Bone
  3. The Crocodile on the Sandbank
  4. Hawkeye
  5. To Kill a Mockingbird

For this Top 5 Wednesday I’m shouting out books I’m forever thankful for. Most if not all of these books will not come as a surprise since I talk about them endlessly. First up is, of course, Harry Potter. This series took my love of reading to extremes and was my first foray into fandom. It’s a foundation of my existence and I have no idea who I’d be without it. Second has got to be Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo which introduced me to my favorite world and favorite author. Next come The Crocodile on the Sandbank by Elizabeth Peters which fueled my love for Ancient Egypt and introduced me to some of the most wonderful characters out there. Hawkeye by Matt Fraction and David Aja brought me into the comic fold and introduced me to a whole new way of reading. Last but certainly not least is To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. I never would have continued reading classics if I hadn’t picked up this book.

What books are you forever thankful for?

Two years of blogging fun and the book community have brought me so much joy at Hopeful Reads. As far as stats go there are 370 wonderful people following across WordPress, Email, and Bloglovin and I’ve made 510 posts with 11,728 total views. I’m truly so grateful for all the support.

Thoughts

My second year of blogging has brought on more challenges but just as much excitement. I truly love what I do here on this blog and don’t see myself giving it up anytime soon. Even going full time at the library hasn’t deterred me from posting regularly and I’m constantly in a literary loving mindset. I’ve even been putting more time into my Instagram and taking lots of pretty pictures.

Thanks

I just want to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for supporting the blog. The bookish community is an amazing place and I love being involved here. I appreciate all the feedback, interaction, comments, etc. that have been shared on my site and hope that it continues in the future. Happy Thanksgiving!!!

img_2266

I just wanted to wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving! That goes for all of you outside the U.S. as well.

It’s been a rough couple weeks both for the world and on a personal level and it’s been hard to find the joy and happiness with so much going on. There is reason to give thanks though especially within this brilliant community.

To start I’m so very thankful for the friends I’ve made both online and in person.  I’ve met some truly amazing people this year and I’m so grateful for each and every one of them. To the authors, for creating such wonderful stories that speak to me on so many levels and inspire me to grow my imagination and make art that matters.

This community is so important to me and that’s become extremely clear in the past couple weeks. Thanks to all those standing up and using their voices for good. For calling out problematic behavior and rallying around important causes.

The support of the blogging and bookish community has been phenomenal and has brought so much more to my life than I ever thought possible. I’m so very thankful for all that has come of being a part of it and this community gives me hope for the future..

Once again Happy Thanksgiving!

Has it really been a year? It seems like only yesterday I got this crazy idea to jump into the book blogosphere. I honestly never thought it would become a thriving hobby that I spend so much time on. I wouldn’t have it any other way though. Sharing my passion for books has always been a top priority in both my career and personal life and this has been the best experience so far.

Hopeful Reads currently has 201 blog followers from WordPress, Email, and Bloglovin. I’ve made 250 posts on here and receive around 500 to 600 views per month. My Twitter followers number 347 and on Instagram it’s 119. I just love bringing reviews, Top 5 Wednesdays, special features and so much more to people across the internet. Continue reading

Six Month Blogaversary & Giveaway

6Versary

I cannot believe I’ve been blogging for six months already. I started my blog kind of out of the blue after discovering a few that really caught my eye back in July. I wanted to delve deeper into the book community and all of its amazingness and blogging felt like the best possible way. WordPress made it so easy to quickly set up a site and start posting almost immediately. My first post, a haul, went up on August 3, 2015.

It was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I’ve connected with so many wonderful individuals through Twitter and blogs, participated in plenty of chats and street teams. This community is so welcoming and wonderful even when issues do arise. It’s great to be apart of something like that. I even discover so many new books and authors now.

Since I’ve started blogging, I’m more critical when I’m reading, analyzing plot points and characters, worldbuilding and writing. I even feel like I read more, there is an urgency now even larger than before. I’m still reading for fun but now I get to share my experiences and opinions with so many other book lovers. It’s a win, win!

To celebrate the occasion and give a big THANK YOU to everyone who has followed and supported me so far, I’ve got two giveaways going on!

The first one is for one book of your choice, under $15, from Book Depository. As long as Book Depository ships to your country, you are eligible to enter.

The second giveaway is for a signed paperback copy of A Darker Shade of Magic and a set of four art cards. This one is US only.
