As Mother’s Day approaches I’m here to share some amazing mother figures from fiction with all of you. First up is President Claremont from Red, White & Royal Blue by Casey McQuiston which comes out next week. I mean, she’s a pretty kickass female president. Next is Emmy Michaelson from How to Make a Wish by Ashley Herring Blake. She really provides for Grace when things aren’t going well. Angie Thomas crafts fantastic families and Lisa Carter from The Hate U Give is a phenomenal mom. Mrs. Kabbah, mother of Ruth and Hannah from Talia Hibbert’s Ravenswood series, is super observant and brutally honest. Rounding out the list is Ma Bollard from Sarah Tolcser’s Song of the Current duology who is a pretty formidable woman.
