Life, Etc.

Was November draining for anyone else? Honestly it was one thing after another. From back pain, to sinus headaches, to eye infections. I spent what was going to be a staycation, miserable on the couch. Despite my misery I was still able to read a bunch, knocking out some eBooks and graphic novels. It clearly helped having some time off though.

Now the holiday season is upon us and I’m getting super hyped! I had a nice, relaxing Thanksgiving and our house has been fully decorated for Christmas. In terms of TV/Movie consumption I just saw Thor: Ragnarok this weekend and absolutely loved it. I’m hoping to see Coco soon as well. I still need to catch up on a bunch of TV shows but I feel no urgency on that front.

How did your November go? Any exciting events?

Has everyone been thoroughly spookified yet? Honestly this month has been so much fun getting into the Halloween spirit. Lots of decorations have been hung, plenty of treats have been consumed, and I finally get to don my costume today. I’m dressing up as Rey and wandering around work with BB-8 in tow.

In terms of reading I’ve been able to fly through a bunch of titles. I did get caught up in a heavier one at the end of the month but all of them were pretty darn good. Work has been rather busy of late and we’ve knocked out a bunch of programs recently. I’m barely watching any live T.V. besides sporting events and HGTV though.

How did your October go? Read any good books?

Fall is here! Fall is here! Fall is here! September is always an exciting month since my favorite season starts to roll in. Plus with the crazy amount of book releases there is so much to look forward to. Honestly I’ve been basking in the cool evenings and trying to consume as many books as possible. My challenges are all carrying on quite nicely and I’m loving life at the moment.

Once again I’ve fallen behind on television and movies which is made more difficult now by the return of a lot of shows. I did decide to pay for Starz so I could stay up to date with Outlander. Priorities! At the beginning of the month I got to take a most exciting trip to Orlando for HP World and BookNet Fest. It was absolutely amazing! And this weekend I’ll be seeing Leigh Bardugo in Grand Rapids. Fun! Fun! Fun!

How was your September? Are you a fan of fall?

Life, Etc.

How is it already the end of August? Honestly every month seems to be flying by faster than the previous one. In terms of work, August is suppose to be the wind down after summer reading and preparation for fall programs. This time around it turned into a never ending tide of solar eclipse phone calls. Thankfully we all survived the ordeal and school is back in session leaving the library a little more peaceful.

With ARC August and The Reading Quest going on my reading stats are pretty darn great. I powered through quite a lot of books and read some really excellent titles. Of course I still haven’t caught up on any television shows lately but that’s always the choice. Soccer is back in session though so my weekend mornings are full of exciting matches. Currently I’m in Orlando for BookNet Fest and Harry Potter World so look for a recap of that.

How was August for you? Do anything exciting?

Life, Etc.

I started July straight off a relaxing and enjoyable vacation visiting relatives and this feel good vibe carried throughout the entire month. Work continues to be busy with summer programming in full swing and there were quite a few tech driven programs that I got to be a part of. Plus plenty of changes are in the works which makes it an exciting time for our library.

I’m also super pumped as I’ve decided to attend BookNet Fest in Orlando at the beginning of September. I’ve never been to HP World and I cannot wait to get down there. Reading was pretty consistent throughout all of July and I was able to knock out a couple of backlist books.┬áIn terms of television, I’ve been rewatching Avatar: The Last Airbender and really need to catch up on all my shows before they return in the fall.

Next month I’ll be participating in ARC August and The Reading Quest!

So, how was your July? Are you attending BookNet Fest?

Summer is here and the heat is going up, up, up. That wouldn’t be such a big deal but the HVAC was being replaced at work. Cue sweltering, muggy days sitting at a desk, doing programs, convening with the books, etc. Thankfully it’s back up and running and I don’t feel miserable any more. Still super busy with all that summer reading has in store though. Mainly programs, programs, programs! My favorite so far has been the Teen Glow Party.

I also drove up to Traverse City, MI to visit my friend and her family for a long weekend. While there we hit up a couple of baseball games, set up garage sales. I really am part of the family. With all that going on I still managed to knock out a good selection of books and kept up with the blog. Plus I’m currently on a longer family vacation with plenty of time to read, read, read. I’m going to have so many reviews coming.

How has your summer started off? Any exciting plans? Catching up on the back log of reading?

How is it almost summer?

May was ridiculously busy in terms of reading, work, and everything else. Time just flies by these days. I’m happy with all the books I was able to get to especially with the amount of releases recently. I even managed to watch all of Anne with an E on Netflix. Of course I’m behind on all my regular shows though. Need a massive catch up soon.

This past weekend was spent mostly outside soaking up the sun and enjoying the company of neighbors before their impending move. I may have burned a bit and feel like there are bug bites everywhere but it was definitely worth it. Now I’m just psyching myself up for the upcoming Wonder Woman and preparing for summer reading at the library.

How did the month of May go for you? Any exciting things planned for the summer?
