Top 5 Wednesday was created by Lainey (Gingerreadslainey on Youtube) as a way for book reviewers and lovers to share their love of lists every Wednesday. Check out the Goodreads group.

  1. Leigh Bardugo
  2. Maggie Stiefvater
  3. Marissa Meyer
  4. Cassandra Clare
  5. Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff

Next week I’ll be in Chicago for the first time to attend Book Expo America and BookCon (my first time for both events) and I’m super pumped to talk this week for Top 5 Wednesday about five authors I’m dying to meet while there!

At the top of my list has to be Leigh Bardugo, author of Six of Crows and The Grisha Trilogy. I fell in love with this wonderful world she created and the past year has been spent immersed in her writing. Crooked Kingdom is my most anticipated read this year and I’m super pumped for her Wonder Woman book too. I will read everything this woman writes!

While I plan to see Maggie Stiefvater on tour, I’m also really excited to meet her at BEA. I’m head over heels in love with The Raven Cycle even having only read them this year. I devoured these books and the characters are just so phenomenal. I can’t wait to get started on her other books too.

Next up is Marissa Meyer who created the wondrous fairytale retellings in The Lunar Chronicles. This series was just adapted so well and the characters are excellent. I’m looking forward to her new book, Heartless, which is a take on the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland.

Cassandra Clare, my Shadowhunter creator, will only be at BookCon but I’m going to try and prioritize meeting her. I just love her books and characters, and just diving back into this world time and time again. Hopefully it all works out and I can get a wristband for the signing.

Yes I cheated a bit for this last one but Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff will be at BookCon promoting Gemina together. Illuminae blew my mind last year and I love Kristoff’s Lotus War series so I’m hoping beyond hope that I can meet them that day.

So fingers crossed I get to meet some of my favorite authors next week! Who would you like to meet at BEA and Bookcon? Will you be there next week? Let me know all your thoughts in the comments below!
