May Book Haul ~ 2016

Is it sad that I feel super accomplished for not buying all the books this month? I managed to rein it in even though I made a sneaky unplanned purchase in the middle. Of course this doesn’t include the piles of books from BEA/BookCon but I already recapped those.

First up are two books the released this month. I’d been dying to get my hands on The Crown’s Game by Evelyn Skye and it was totally worth the wait. I also got my first ever OwlCrate and the book of the month was Everland by Wendy Spinale. I was so happy to acquire this Peter Pan retelling and hope I love it.

While in Chicago for BEA/BookCon, I ended up at Anderson’s Bookshop in Naperville for a Sarah J. Maas signing. Basically I had a car and my friends needed a ride, so I ended up with a signed copy of A Court of Mist and Fury. I also purchased 13 Little Blue Envelopes and The Last Little Blue Envelope by Maureen Johnson cuz I’m a sucker for independent bookstores and the new covers are glorious.

I also got my preorder of The Chasm by S. Usher Evans in the mail. This one doesn’t release until July 12 but that’s the benefit of ordering from an indie author and publisher. I also picked up a copy of Gotham Academy Vol. 1 during Free Comic Book Day which I recommend to literally everyone!

I was also beyond excited to receive and eARC of Crystal Crowned, the last book in the Air Awakens series by Elise Kova. I’ve been a massive fan of these since I discovered them last year and I don’t want it to come to an end. Just bask in the beauty of this breathtaking cover!
