Top 5 Wednesday was created by Lainey (Gingerreadslainey on Youtube) as a way for book reviewers and lovers to share their love of lists every Wednesday. Check out the Goodreads group.
- Inej/Kaz (Six of Crows)
- Tessa/Will (The Infernal Devices)
- Blue/Gansey (The Raven Cycle)
- Vhalla/Aldrik (Air Awakens)
- Kestrel/Arin (The Winner’s Trilogy)
So this week’s Top 5 is all about those angsty ships we know and love. At the tippy top is of course Inej and Kaz my loves who struggle so much to let each other in. I just want them happy. Then there is Tessa and Will from The Infernal Devices in which my heart cannot take all the feels. Oh sweet Blue and Gansey who had the threat of a kiss of death over them the entire time. So much wanting. Vhalla and Aldrik went suffered through so much and their relationship had so many ups and downs. Rounding out my five is Arin and Kestrel who had every obstacle in their way and still managed to come back to each other.
Basically ALL THE FEELS when it comes to these five ships! Let me know what your Top 5 angsty ships would be in the comments below!
Inej and Kaz!!! I almost put Six of Crows/Crooked Kingdom on my list too, but I think I would have focused on Nina and Matthais. T_T So much sadness for these couples. Even Jesper and Wylan have their difficult moments.

I love your list of angsty romances! I haven’t read any of these books but heard allllll about these ships and I probably would have put some of them on my list, too! 🙂

Oh I really want to read ‘Air Awakens’! To whom would you recommend it, like “if you like…” and so on? And are there any tropes or so that it includes that might make the book less appealing if you don’t like them? Thanks! 🙂 x

I’d recommend Air Awakens to those who like elemental magic and high fantasy. There are definitely some tropes but if you push through the first book, the rest is fabulous.
